The Base of Every Great Building: Why Foundations Matter

Here are a few great photographs of our team installing the foundations on a project in the Derbyshire Dales. The accuracy and care that has gone into the dig out and planning are plain to see. This thought and care ensured the foundation pour went smoothly and efficiently and that the finished foundation is as strong as possible.

Why do foundations matter?  Quite simply, because the foundations determine the stability, durability, and safety of every building.

Common problems resulting from poor quality or badly installed foundations include subsidence, poor drainage and damp, and in the worst cases foundations failing altogether as a result of low-quality concrete or inadequate mixing.  Over the years Oakenstone have encountered many structural issues (from cracks in walls to sinking floors) all of which stem from poor foundations.

So it makes sense to invest in high-quality groundworks, securing your building for the future and avoiding potentially costly repairs later on.  In addition to ensuring the longevity and structural integrity of your home, a strong foundation will improve your home’s energy efficiency by preventing drafts and insulation issues, and protect it against environmental stressors such as soil shifts and water damage.

Here at Oakenstone, we pay attention to detail and quality at every stage of the build, and that starts with the foundations.  Our expert team ensures that every project benefits from thorough site assessments to determine soil conditions and potential challenges. We only use premium materials that guarantee strength and durability.  Plus, the care and precision displayed by our team of craftsmen mean that every building we produce is built on strong foundations.

If you are considering a build project, renovation or extension why not give us a call to see how Oakenstone can help?  By choosing Oakenstone you’ll be investing in quality and reliability, giving you confidence in your new home now, and for the future.
