Nestled in rolling farmland on the edge of a village, deep in the Derbyshire Dales, this beautiful low-carbon family home was born out of the bones of a near derelict old barn.

OakenStone’s ingenious design takes full advantage of the potential of the site. The large, safe garden where the children play also provides the ground-source heating. Thoughtfully placed windows and openings provide breathtaking views whilst respecting the character and history of the original building.

Built in the middle of a global pandemic, we reviewed every aspect of site safety to ensure we were Covid secure. This enabled us to work throughout the 2020 lockdown to deliver this remarkable transformation on time, and on budget.
